Obd2-Obd1 conversion in ek IABs? ECU gurus PLEASE HELP!!
Ok so i have a 98 ek with a jdm obd2 gsr motor. I converted it to OBD1 with a chipped p06.My p06 was actually programmed to control Iabs and it works fine unfortunatleythe p06 itself doesnt run smooth. I believe it is running way too rich and sputters in low rpms. To avoid any headaches(i thought) i bought a usdm p72 obd1. I have a conversion harness and on the obd2 side it is on pin a26 and the ground on the iab solenoid has been diverted to a 12v source. Runs great only thing is,the IAB arent opening on the p72. Do Usdm's wire differently? Is there a way i can run a wire from the IAB solenoid directly to the conversion harness bypassing the obd2 side of the harness, andwill this work? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!!
Will it work, yes. How is is done, not completely sure. My tuner took care of this for me. My 99 GSR is running on a 94 P72 and it has been modified to control the IAB. I believe it had something to do with positive grounding vs negative grounding. This is done so infrequently now. Some experienced tuner should be able to help. I will try to find my old emails about this issue years ago.

yea it can work.. look at this web site it has the ecu pinouts.. just find the wires your looking for and it will tell you the location on the ecu plugs just snip it off and connect it to the wires you ran....
