Default So I'm building this motor right?

Background. Originally started by buying a new head for my car...was gonna do some minor work on it, throw it on my B18B1...minor work turns to the whole 9 yards, now I have this wicked head that I kinda wanna put on top of a strong bottom end.

Here's where I am....I'm gonna build a B18B...no VTEC (what's that? )...what to stuff the block with? I've heard that the stock crank is strong enough. I've never build a motor before....and I don't wanna have to keep RE-building it. I want this bad boy to be rock solid. I'm gonna try and run SCCA's SM soloII class ProSolo tour, which is a class where cars like mine (integs/civics) get preyed on by hybrid BMW's and Supras so I'll need to make a decent amount of power.

I just wanna get all your opinions on what direction I should go....remember, all I have right now is a head and block...the perfect starting point

oh yeah, boost (no Nitro though) is legal in SM

The stock crank is good enough for a lot of power. However, the cylinder walls suck.

Suggest you start here.

well if you're keeping the tranny and all then....

get a sleeve and stronger rods and boost that thing.

you can get gobs of horsepower out of the B-series....it just takes money and tuning

don't ever give anyone a link to JG engine dynamics.
