how to get get CEL codes with obd0/1 jumper harness?
Hey, I need to know how to get the CEL codes from a P28 in a mini me setup where i'm using an obd0 to obd1 jumper harness. I see one wire that is marked CEL and i thought all I had to do was ground that wire, I dunno though, it's not working, am I doing it wrong?
hrm, I did ground that wire and it didn't change anything. I don't have to start the car to see the code do I? I mean, it should just start flashing with the ignition in the on position with the car off shouldn't it? maybe im not using a good ground.
it's an ebay jumper but i did go through and verify all the pins are correct with this:

also, I just read a guide saying that you need to connect the a13-MIL wire to the d04-SCS wire, I don't know what SCS stands for but I'm going to try that in the morning. I'm pretty sure the wire I've been trying to ground is the a13-mil wire, I guess I should have made a note of it but I think thats right.
anyone have any other tips or know what that SCS wire is?
edit: also i found that some harnesses use the ignition timing jumper plug to activate the CEL light, I don't think this one is wired that way but I'll try that too.
