95 gsr with obd2 itr swap, won't run
i have a 95 gsr with an obd2 itr swap.
first off it is throwing a code 9 for cam sensor in the dizzy, switched out 3 other dizzies off of other cars that run fine and mine runs fine with them but still throws the code.
now i was on my way home and grabbed a couple gears down the street from my house got in the driveway and it died, i noticed that all the lights that are supposed to be on when the ign is on are not illuminating.
normally when you turn the key on the abs light, check engine showing the fuel pump priming and a couple other lights come on but now they won't, BUT the car will still fire up and immediately die, with zero throttle response.
let it sit for a min, checked ecu fuse= good, checked to make sure ecu didn't come unplugged=good nothing seems amiss under the hood, although it's very dark out now.
turned key on again and all the lights came on, fuel pump primed and so on, fired and died immediately, and ign on lights would not come on, it can't be a loose battery cable or bad alt because it turns over as normal, not bogging like if it the battery was low.
tested battery=good, checked all battery cables=good no bad grounds that i can see
so WTF

Whenever I put a obd2 eng into an obd1 chassis, all I do is remove the crank sensor and has never given me a problem. If you still have the crank sensor pluged in, it may be triggering your code9. As for the no start, I would try a different main relay. I had the same problem periodically and when I changed it, it worked fine.
i'll try the main relay, but i thought the main relay only controls the fuel pump? would it make all the lights in the cluster not come on? like the lights to illuminate the cluster when headlights are on work but nothing else will come on at all
i've had them go bad before and everything worked fine but the fuel pump would not run.
i'll probably pull the crank sensor to

changing main relay did not work, i also tried a relay out of my 99 integra, althoug it was different, not sure if they are interchangeable or not i tried it as well and no go
almost seems like something in my car is killing distributors, i can't find a wiring issue at all, switching dizzy in a min, if i can't figure this pile o **** out soon i may have to take it to a real shop, damn more money i don't have

ok so i thought maybe it was the ignition switch for the non running issue, turned to the start position pushed the clutch in til the car fired off and immediately let off the clutch and it stayed running.
as soon as i let the key turn back to the on position like you wouldnormally do it died so it's officially not running because of the ignition, as soon as i get a new one i'll be able to determine the code 9 problem

if its a itr what harness did you use? did you convert the stock obd1 harness to work with the obd2 injectors alternator and dizzy? if you did that may be a issue.. or it may be a computer problem try switching the computer with a know goood one
the crank sensor has nothing to do with your problem...since your using an obd1 ecu which doesnt even have it on its settings then its not even looking for it...if your running an obd2 ecu then it will read it..unplugging it with an obd2 ecu will result in a CEL
i used the obd2 harness that came on the swap, haven't even had time to mess with it lately. i'll post up once i figure out why it's throwing a cam sensor code.
i'm thinking i better look into the ecu wiring harness in the car itself and see if any wires came unplugged from the main ecu plugs or if any were cut and spliced or broken or whatever. it's the only thing i can think of that would make it randomly throw a code for a sensor in the dizzy and with other known good dizzies it still throws the code
