The transmission won't be compatible with your engine, so no it won't work. If your savvy with metal then you could create an adapter plate. But you'd need new mounts as well.

there was a guy in the 92-00 civic forum that did this in an eg hatch. now, he didn't use a b16, he used a b20, but same difference. i believe he used the awd system out of a crv. very costly, and i didn't follow it from start to finish, so i can't tell you how it was done. i do know that there is alot of cutting and welding to make this work properly.

Too much work. I don't think the wagovan drive line could even hold that for very long. That is if you are going to be launching the car, wich I assume you will. I had a ZC in my wagon, If you want to get wild I suppose you could turbo one of those.

awd crx has been done before. there is a build thread on here using a wagon driveline (d-series) and makin his own mounts and rear diff mounts.

there is a guy on HCW that has a b-series awd wagon. he used a crv tranny and crv rear diff. i have read that you can use a crv trans and a wagon rear diff but the gear ratios wont be paired correctly so idk.

it can be done but its expensive and you need to do a lot of fab work.

and "google" epic tuning. they have a 400whp z6 turbo awd hatch with a wagon driveline. they go tsome good launches on youtube.com

What he MEANT to say... was you''ll have to utilize CRV drivetrain components to be compatible with your B-series motor. Custom fab will be needed, but it's totally do-able for a somewhat experienced mechanic.

Please, check out www.hondacivicwagon.com ... B-series AWD has been done a couple of times. One of the regulars on there converted his CRX to D-series AWD. He was parting it out last I heard

PM Charb1618 (me) when you get on there, I'll give you some good links! You gotta be a member to view though.

I didn't MEAN to say that. Feel free to ADD to my comment though.

As far as the rear dif holding up to hard launching, i think the central VC would reduce alot of driveline shock. I haven't ever seen a wagon blow a rear dif from launching.

The CRV transmission will obviously bolt up to the B20 motor (and any other B series for that matter). The rear diff on the CRV is 2.533:1 and the Wagovan is 2.529, so over 1 mile, the difference would be 8 1/2 feet of distance. That's negligable. The OBX D series LSD fits the Wagovan rear diff with some minor mods. All you'd really need to do, is adapt the Wagovan driveshaft to fit the CRV transfer case.

It's totally doable with some minor fabrication. There would be some welding and some mount fabrication, but if you have some skills and some resourcefullness, you can do it. It would not be that expensive.

As has already been mentioned, the Epic Tuning Civic hatch did all OEM Wagovan drivetrain parts, and their videos showed some high RPM launches on Falkens with a 400whp turbo motor. There was little if any wheel spin. The car just rocketed away. They didn't break anything in the drivetrain. Then there's the Braile Auto drift Integra. They used a CRVtec with a JRSC in RWD only, and all they broke was rear axles. The CRV rear axles are quite small (same size as the Wagovan axles) so an upgrade of some sort would make a big difference.
