Default 1990 hf CRX rear subframe ripped

I have swapped my crx with a jdm b16, for 3 years now had no problems with it. Untill the other day i would hear a weird noise coming from the engine bay when i would take off 1st gear, and when breaking fast. So i looked all over, and had my friend rock the engine back and forth and saw something i never see before my subframe has a rip almost all the way through. Now im trying to figure out why this happend but i think i know why. I dont have a front motor mount ........That would be my guess. Now i have never replaced a subframe before, i did some research but could not find any specific information on how to do it. Some say to take out the egine some say dont. So can someone please give me some info, on how to replace the subframe? Is it hard? how long would it take me? and maybe some pix if anyone has done it?? Thank you, my name is Steve btw

By sub-frame you mean the part that the rear engine mount bolts to, right?
If so, I would jack up the car and give it a "once over". See what needs to be removed and what doesn't. I believe the steering rack bolts to it. You might have a lot of work in your hands. If you're not mechanically inclined have a pro do the work.
