that hard part about sppray painting is that the coat is too thin. and after the prep, you have to spray a lot of layers to even make eveyrthing look nice. and the clear doesn't stick as well as if you were to use a compressor. i'd prep all the pieces out adn bring it to even maaco to paint so that they can paint match it to the right shade fo color to your car.

Ok, here we go.

The can cost me €22,01 when i convert that to USD is that 22,01x 1,266 = $27,86... lets say about $ 28.-

Here are some photos that i took when i was painting my front grill this weekend.

The can.

Prep work, masking off the parts that i dont want to be red.

After sanding it with P500 and 2 layers of plastic primer i begun with painting.

I haven't got a picture of the endresult but i must say it looks realy nice. And not to mucht color deviation. Picture of the result i will post soon..

Don't buy duplicolor. I tried it and it comes out darker.

The issue with "Milano Red" is that it is a tri-coat paint. Base color, tinted clear in a different color, top coat of clear. That composite of both the base and mid coat creates the final color (also why it changes color subtly in different lighting conditions). It also means if you paint additional parts (skirts for example) you need to get the mid coat the exact same thickness, or the color will differ.

These paints that pretend to be Milano Red in a single coat, don't look right next to the OEM painted panels in direct sunlight, or under some garrage lights too.

Milano Red GSR owner. Hate that I had my rear bumper sprayed with a single stage "Milano Red" wanna be "close enough" paint from a shop. Its close, but not close enough in direct sunlight.

I've heard (but no personal experience) nothing but great reviews about the paint from http://www.paintscratch.com/ for DIY spray cans.

thanks for all the good input guys. that OMNI-PAK spray looks really good. I wonder if the color would change if i cleared it.

the paint from paintscratch is way too expensive :[

I don't think color will change if you put clearcoat. It's really smooth and I was happy with it. Not oem smooth but smooth.
