D15 has differernt crank(stroke) and rods(rod length) from a D16. Thats wby one is a 1.6 and the other a 1.5L

no..k what Im trying to do is prevent having to rebuild my block for the 3rd time. I recently rebuilt it and the rings didnt seat properly, so I have to send it out again, but in stead of sending the same block out I wanted to kno if I could use my d15 block with my crank, rods and pistons..but i guess not lol

I still haven't seen anything in this thread as to WHY you can't
-OR-
what it would take to make it work.

I'm hoping to see somebody explain in some detail.

There are people that have put Integra rods, Suzuiki pistons, and other stuff in their D motors so just stating the obvious 'they are different motors' doesn't apply.

its not worth trying to make it work, they are just plain not compatible.

the d15 has an 84.5mm stroke, and the d16's is 90mm. the d16 rods are also longer by .118" inch. the 1.5l crank also has smaller rod bearing journals. d15's are 1.772" inches, while the d16's are 1.89" inches wide. d16 rods will not fit on a d15 crank.
