cooling fan?
how long does it usually take for the cooling fan for the radiator to kick in, my brothers 97 not long at all, i havent heard mine kick in at all yet i think the wires are done there pretty melted i see bare way in a place thinking about toggle switch for it better then nothing
that's what i did. mine hasn't worked since i bought the car. i just put a light up switch(so i would not forget and leave it on)and went on my way. but maybe there is nothing wrong with yours. if your car goes above normal running temp. before they cut on, you may have a problem.

it runs hot i purposly tried to get my fan to kick sitting there revving my engine for it to get hotter but still nothing also i dont have a check engine light going either
You won't get a check engine light for the water temp.
If you want to trouble shoot the fan, just unplug it and hook it direct to the battery.
If that works, then plug it back in and find the fan switch found on the back of the motor by the oil filter. Disconnect the two wires from the switch and hook them together - fan should come on when you turn the ignition on. If it doesn't then you have relay/wiring problems. If it does come on then the switch might be bad... it's not unheard of for those to go bad.
Also, if you want to run a manual switch in the car, you can just hook onto those two wires on the temp switch and you manual switch in the car would be used to short them together. If you leave the wires hooked to the temp switch it works autmatically AND you have the option to go manual.
