Clutch Problem...plz help
Hey I'm having some major clutch problems. I will try my best to explain. I can start the car and everythign when i push the cluthc down. But then when i try to change into gears it won't let me. And I look under the clutch and i saw fluid leaking around it. Does anyone know whats wrong with it? and how to fix it?

how many miles are on the tranny? it may be the syncros...when mine went out i was at about 167k...it would drive fine but shifting was very difficult from gear to gear
if its leaking, it could be a bad gasket...you may want to check the fluid level on the side by taking out the plug, not the drain...but the plug, and the level should be right around the hole, if not drain it and add some more fluid...i recommend synthetic 10w30

slave cylinder is on the front of the tranny, that little weird thing sticking out the front, you can follow a hydrolic fluid line from the master cylinder (small reservoir next to the brake fluid reservoir) to it. Check to see that the master cylinder isn't leaking by looking under the dash where your clutch parts go thru the firewall. If it's leaking, then it's bad too (duh).
Hey dude, fix it fast... it's your master cylinder that's leaking into your cabin. Mine did the same... replace the slave at the same time, just to be thorough. Don't drive it now... i drove mine, just replaced them, and now i need to replace the clutch cuz it put lots of stress on it. I am doing it soon. I'll let you know... but yes, that is your problem. I got my master + slave for 100 total. Good luck

Same thing happened to me. Thought it was my tranny but when i looked under the hood, i saw a leak coming from the slave and a leak coming from under my clutch. Replace both to be sure. If you tend to grind a lot when you shift, it may be your syncros in your tranny. lol ya better hope its your cylinder leak than your tranny.
Exactly...check your fluid levels, and find where its leaking from.
In front of tranny = slave, under clutch pedal = master. Neither are particularly difficult to replace, but that sounds like the problem. If you NEED to drive it, just fill the reservoir with fluid and check to see if its a slow leak.

Do not drive it. My fluid levels were fine. My tranny is fine. I drove it while the master cylinder was blowing fluid by... there went my clutch. Replace the parts... don't do what i did
