okay right now i own a 2002 ep3 my clutch is starting to slip so its time for a change. is the 08 or 09 civic si worth the money? what things have honda done to make it alot better since 2002. i hate to trade in my civic si but i be getting a new coupe lol let me know guys thxs

 

Get a brochure or go to their website.

One obvious thing making the FA/FG > EP is the motor.

 

Agreed the newer version is much faster, and the 6 speed tranny helps that out. i used to have a 04 ep3 and i upgraded to a 4 door si the last summer. i slightly miss my old hatch BUT when i do i jus pull the vtec and i forget about it lol. i think the first thing that i actually noticed when i test drove my car was the throttle response seemed more "crisp" and the exhaust note in the newer one actually seems louder. and i noticed my 4 door handles better than the ep3. not sure how much different the coupe will handle but from what i hear the 4 door handles a lil better than the 2 door. also you will see improved mpg but i think that is partly due to the more mpg friendly 6 speed tranny.

overall i would say it is a good upgrade. although the new si isnt quite as eye catching as the ep3, it is still a good lookin and great performing car for your money.

 

well the fact the new si is a real si makes it all worth getting.

 

Dont forget the LSD as well

lmao hahaha lol i went looking today i found 4 09 coupe si. and i found 1 4dr si coup 07 model but no 08s. still looking around and damn lsd i like that option. or is it a upgrade? and oh yeah real vtec hahaha yay im digging that too. but i dont know how much im going to miss my ep3. as of right now the damn thing is pissing me off cuz the clutch is already slipping at 75k

you want to know what happened when i had an ep3??

at least 5 people thought it was a honda fit.
my friends said it was a mini van.
and i only had the car for a week.

i thought the ep's were better looking than the fits.
but after i got rid of the ep3 and got my em2 back then traded it for my current fg2, the fits seemed more appealing to me than the ep3.
and i had the 04 ep3 which the front end looks almost identical to a fit lol

but i do not like the font end on the 09 fit.

 

i like em all, i wish i woulda got one to this day stil. a taffy white sport m/t would be awesome but i have my si.

i think you took that the wrong way. the ep3 was a very "individual" car lol. the new si isnt as "different" and i dont think it stands out in a crowd as much as the ep3 did. im not sayin that it was attractive, im sayin it stood out cuz there are no other cars at that time that looked like it, but now that people have said it, it does look VERY similar to the fit.

 

I know that, I was responding to the OP saying its an advantage over the old Si.

 

the major goods: lsd, better engine, i like the suspension, looks good

The bad: if you are a jdm ***** not that many parts available unless you get the sedan

 

Sometimes, "individualism" is a bad thing. There is a reason that no other cars look like it. Because, when stock, it looks like a lifted mini-minivan.

Tastefully modded, they actually look pretty good tho.

 

at least you can find them on the lot now. when i got mine in 06 i had to follow the truck to the dealership in hopes it wasn't spoken for...

i have an 07 si 4 dr, but i also have a mazdaspeed3. do yourself a favor and test drive a mazdaspeed3 if you can. though bear in mind this is the last year before the new one comes out. IMO '08 GT with the black and gray seats is the hot ticket vs. 08.5 and 09.

your EP is ions better in the quality department than anything honda is offering currently. my wife had an 04 EP before her lemoned 07 and this 07...i can tell you for sure that is the case.

 

damn lol i dont like fits but damn i got beat by one the had a fitsfreak sticker on it and and it was boosted runing like 12psi. lol my ep3 got spanked but it was all fun at the end he was a kool dude. and yeah i like the 4dr si better then the coupe. only thing i dont wanna a s2k is becuase its a 2 seater. what if i had my gf and some friends and we crusin??? lol it wouldnt work i have to put them in the trunk lol

I don't see too many EP3s on the road these days. I'd take an EM2 coupe over an EP3, but that's just because I don't like hatchbacks.
