Eagle Vs. Stock crank? broken an oil pump gear too...
Running an eagle ultra-light 27lb crank my oil pump gear(pr3) exploded at 8xxx miles after build , could it be from the lighten crank?
What crank will get me down the track faster or make more powa?
Setup:2.0LsVtec w/eagle untra-light crank & rods, Je 9:1, 12lb ACT flywheel, sprung 6puck clutch, performance+ harmonic damper pulley, ARP head/main studs, Rev valvetrain, Gsr cams, Balanced bottem end, garrett 60-1/t3.

Useing the performance+ pulley made by the same people that make the AEBS intakemanifold. I paid $180 for , a fraction of the price of ATI or fluidamper.
---> What crank will make more power on a turbo car , a Lightweight eagle or stock crank??? I allready have both getting micro-polished & re-balanced.

I heard and don't quote me on this b/c I am using my stock crank b/c I was told to by my tuner. That the lighter crank doesn't help with turbo app's b/c it is harder between shifts for the rotating force to keep going with the turbo lag but with a all motor setup the lighter the better.
I think this has more to do with the dampner than the crank. ATI and Fluidamper are the way to go for increased engine life. I'll also bet you have a lightweight flywheel which just magnifies the problem. Heavier flywheels help soak up engine harmonics just like having a better quality dampner. Not saying you need an OEM flywheel but more like a 12-14lbs one instead of a 8lb one.
