Default Bouncy lights when the card is cold

Sorry for such a noob question but my gf's hatch headlights, and rear lights surge when the car is cold but after it is warm the problem goes away. Also, when the turn signals are used the turn indicator light on the cluster blinks twice as fast as normal and also stops when the car is warm. Any help would be great. thanks

Check whether the alternator belt is loose or glazed.

One of the turn signal bulbs may not be the correct type or is burned out.

Could it be the alternator belt? Could that affect the lights cold but not when the engine is warm because the belt is slipping when it cold? Is that what you are saying?

Yes, it's a possibility.

If the belt is fine, have the alternator tested at AutoZone (free service). Also clean and tighten the battery connectors and ground wire in the engine bay.

+2 I would also make sure that the alt is charging correctly and would also check and clean all your grounds.
