prelude tras bad or whats wrong
so i bough this car and cracked trans cover changed it and now the car runs fine but as it shifts from 1-2 gear it slips , or rpm goes way high and then catches gear.
its an auto NOT A STICK
im thinking its the solenoid, the trans had almost no fluid in it and i just filled it
all other gears are fine
what can this be, i know the autos suck real bad

on these tranny's once to t/c goes the whole thing most likely does. it send all kinds of **** into the tranny an fries the clutch packs and bearings.
not true my boys old accord auto his t/c was going and 1st 2nd and 3rd sounding like it was riding the clutch pack and it was deffslipping but was still working
i got the same problem, i was checking it and it seems that the first gear or clutch whatever is damaged because if i put the car in second gear everything is fine. also the oil is almost black i will change it and ill see if that helps.

yup, 5 speed swap and a new ecu. Unless you can solder your auto ecu to convert it to stick (if thats possible for your ecu. I know it is in mine (po6, as it is converted to run manual)
Tranny swap isn't hard at all. I would say installing the shifter cables is the most work out of all of it and getting them adjusted/set properly. Removing the bell housing and shafts isn't too hard. Lots of great write ups in here for easier ways to remove the shafts :D
