Turbo Charging the H22, help please
I'm kinda new to the honda world but not completely clueless. My husband has a 99 prelude, that he wants to put a turbo on. He's in Iraq so i'm slightly on my own getting it setup. Either i do it for him or it never gets done. But luckily my dad owns a shop and we work on foreign cars (mainly german makes) so tools and installation wont be a problem. Now the quesitions at hand. Do i need to disconnect the Vtec? if i am correct all it does is help as a daily driver, decent gas mileage at low RPMs and not so great at high. so how does that affect the turbo? also i'm assuming its a high compression engine so i plan on chaging the pistons for a lower compression. what else do i need to consider? also on low boost will this engine still work decently as a daily driver? or should she just come out to play when we take her to shows? ANY advice would be appreciated... but before i get comments like "let someone else handle it" please remember we all gotta start somewhere. Thanks for your time!!

No, you do not disable vtec. Do not buy the traditional 'kits' that use the log style manifolds. They are horrible and create a lot of exhaust reversion.
Plan on spending 4-6k to do everything properly. We do custom kits for the H series and we can make 250-300whp on bone stock engines running between 7-9psi all day long while retaining complete daily driveability.
