Yep, a big GMC 3500 Xcab truck backed into me from about 6 feet away, his trailer hitch just crunched up the front of my car He said he didn't even see me.....
Damage estimates are all around $4200, so I think I'm gonna cash out, have a body shop fix the necessary damage (pull out the upper tie bar and replace it) for $1300 ish, and then I'm gonna replace all the busted stuff with aftermarket parts (well, except the AC condensor)....
What I'm wondering is if any turbo prelude people have the VIS Invader style carbon fiber hoods, because it looks like it might not clear the turbo.....I'm also worried that the heat will melt the CF.....anyone got info on these questions?
Anyways, it looks like it'll be a long time before the prelude is up and running again.....I start college again in a week (finishing CS/starting business gradschool), and have 2-3 weeks of fixing damage, a week of tranny stuff (LSD/clutch/flywheel), then probably another 2 weeks of turbo install (if I work on my car in the shop in my free time, which will pretty much be weekends)
