Well after much deliberation I've come to the conclusion that I can buy a Diversion 165 right now or wait god knows how long to get a Dynasty 200DX. I don't have the money for one right now but I can get a Diversion tomorrow if HT welders give me the OK. Should I wait or will the Diversion be sufficient enough for welding little things. Mostly be used for brackets, charge pipes, mufflers/exhausts and so forth. I was thinking I can master the art of TIG with this machine and in the near future purchase the Dynasty 200DX. Please HT welders, give me your advice on what I should do. Have a good night boys.

What material is that? How many passes? It looks like 1.. From what I was told, it doesn't matter the thickness of the material it will just take that many more passes with a smaller machine. With the exception of T joints the Diversion can do just about anything a bigger machine can do just takes longer. Am I correct in making such statements? This is what I was told, its not something I read so it may not be true.

Just don't plan on doing a lot of aluminum with the 165. Well thick aluminum at least. Maybe some sheet for end tanks and possibly intake manifolds and charge piping, but no thick stuff. Aluminum requires a lot of current.
For steel you should be fine. Again on most of the thinner stuff. And by the time you need more power, your air cooled torch will most likely be too hot to hold, and it would be time to upgrade that to water cooled as well.
So I say the diversion should be fine for your needs.
