Icon2 OEM vs Autozone

Is there a real serious difference between the two concerning oil and water pumps? I normally would buy an oem oil pump and water pump but I have to order them due to not having a local dealership so I was wondering if anyone would trust there motor to something other than oem? Thanks for the input

I have used couple of the autozone water pumps and never had a problem, but I dont think I would ever risk running anything other than oem when it comes to the oil pump.

Just an insider knowledge if you want something equal to OEM parts go with the Beck and Arnley part from AZ. They are labeled and boxed by that brand but they're actually OEM Honda part with out the HONDA stamp on them.

So, you know this for a fact? That would mean that the Beck and Arnley are actually the OEM part manufacturers. I'm sure HONDA doesn't make oil & water pumps. Where'd you get this information? I'm interested to know, myself.

the oil pumps are....someone help me out here. made in japan. at least the GSR/type R, i can totally picture the sybol stamped on the front and it isn't honda.

beck arnley is a better aftermarket supplier but i'm all but sure they do not make all the honda oil pumps. i know fel pro makes the US market b series MLS head gaskets.

Isn't it HAMAYDA, or something? The logo is an eagle....kinda looks like the one the WWII German army used.

its yamada if i am not mistaken. honestly how much is an oem water pump, 100bucks? worth it in my opinion. i use plenty of autozone parts, (axles, gaskets **** i even used a felpro mls hg i got from autozone on my 400hp lsvtec) but i think oem is the way to go for stuff like that and moving parts. just my opinion

I've basically have ordered stuff from this brand and alot of time i've actually had parts come in with OEM Honda packaging...and yes the pump say yamada on it. So it's always made me wonder just like one time I ordered a GSR fuel pump and instead of the pump being Masters fuel pump it was actually a Denso fuel pump....and another time I ordered a clutch kit for an 03 RSX Type S the box was a Duralast clutch kit box but the clutch was Exedy! So basically i'm thinking since sometimes they're isn't aftermarket support for a part they just get OEM parts in bulk at a cheaper price and package it with they're personal branding and resell at they're mark up price. And no i'm not saying they are HONDA's oem manufature i'm just say they buy OEM parts and relabel and repacked them in they own branding. That's why if you noticed the parts from that brand are almost comparable to the Dealers price.

I dont know if it was an autozone water pump, but i have definitely seen a non honda pump on an h23 and the gear itself didnt look near the quality of the OEM honda gears.

IMO I'd use an auto parts store water pump and have. But for the oil pump, I'd stick with an OEM unit.
