Anyone know how to remove this without breaking the windsheild?

Mine is getting old and needs some paint so I would like to take it off if its easy to do then pop it back on.

Every rear view i have ever seen was stuck on the same way. A little sticky tape like substance and some glue.

I would suggest a razor blade.

there's a screw on the base of the mirror. the base of the mirror is mounted on a metal plate that is glued to the windshield. unscrew the screw and slide the base of the mirror off of the metal plate.

 

Trustdestruction, I'm looking for the screw, but I don't see it. Is it behind a cover plate? or under the cut out at the top or bottom?

 

pretty sure it's on the bottom edge of the base. i'll go outside and look for you.

 

it's on the bottom of the base, pointing straight up and down. it's a flat head screw.
