Default idle problem b16a

my car runs fine until i get off the highway or after i enter vtec but when it comes time to stop the idle fluctuates from 1k to 2500 sometimes. i took off the iacv and cleaned it out with brake cleaner, let it dry out for 2 hours and messed with my sunroof trying to get it to open, then put it back on. it does seem less rough but the problem still remains. should i just buy a new iacv or is it something else? if someone could tell me how to check for a vacuum leak that would be awesome.. also i want to try to change the tps but idk which ones are interchangeable between honda motors, can someone please help with this...thanks

Easiest way to find a vacuum leak is get yourself some Carb cleaner (not brake cleaner!!!) start ur engine n spray it around your vacuum lines and where your TB meets the manifold & manifold meets the head. if there is a leak the RPM will jump up a bit.

make sure your coolant is full and no air in the system, also check your fiv http://www.jdmuniverse.com/forums/ho...-idle-fix.html

yup up and down idle is almost alyways and vaccum leak, make sure there are no unhooked vaccum hoses, or bad/leaking gaskets in the TB and manifold

The TPS could also cause some issues but it's more likely a vacuum leak. Vacuum leaks tend to be worst at idle and smooth out at higher RPM's.
