Miller Diversion machine
Anyone having any issues for those that have it or know someone that has broken it already. I have a few parts for the car I would like to make myself.
I know most that have it have already raved about it on here, just trying to see if one has broken yet.
Best/Cheapest place to buy one- local welding outfitter or cyberweld.com?

Hey, Toxic fabrication i'm also thinking of getting the same welder .Do you think it's worth the extra money for a used thermal arc 185 if it's a couple hundred more given the added features?

i have heard excellent reviews on the TA-185 i was going to get that or the sync 200 but the sync was to heavy (weight ) for what i need right now and the TA185 i just couldnt put out that much money right now for what i would need a tig for!
so i saved some cash for the Diversion 165 and bought 20lbs of filler and a bunch of accessories for under 1500

i made the mistake back when i bought my miller 180sd.i was looking at the ta 185 and at the time i didnt have the extra cash for it.i really wish that i would have bought the ta 185.i do like my 180sd.its just not the same as an inverter.so now im looking at getting a dynasty 200 or maybe stepping up to the 350.might as well get the one that will do it all.the 350 is a big jump in price but i dont want to make the same mistake twice.
i agree with KMT i really wanted the TA185 or the sync200 but i jsutcouldnt put myself in spending the extra money, when im not living on this welder! and the Diversion does the job for what i need it to do and maybe i wll upgrade in a few years from now when im not a bigginer at Tig welding!
do some reading. i found a website where they did a review on the TA185 but i cant rememrb what it was, if i find it i will be sure to post it

For some that don't know, the TA185's from Indiana Oxygen Supply are only 2030.00 shipped with everything but a cart, helmet, gas and consumables.
I'm still 99% certain that this is my path I'll be taking in the next week or so!

good to hear.i think you will be very happy with that machine.
I have a TA185 and it was a bit cheaper when I got it (about 2k with Miller Elite helmet, regulator, full torch setup, 10lb of 1/16th 308 filler and 5lb 1/16 6061 filler; just needed gas and cart). Given the increased prices and what I use the machine for, given the choice today I would probably get the Diversion. I'm not advanced enough to use most of the fancy features of the TA (pulse, high freq AC, etc). Maybe I'll use it all someday but I don't think I would have been unhappy with the Diversion at all given my level of competency.
Here's my wierd experience. I was in the same situation 3 months back. I decided to look on ebay for TA 185 machines. I found this guy selling new 185's for 1490 shipped. i was like NO WAY!! all 4 of his machines sold in the first 3 hours. so i contacted him and he had 2 more he hasn't yet listed so i said i would buy one off of him. He had a really good seller rating so i decided to take the dive. he sold me one for 1450 SHIPPED!! brand new!!! boxed from TA and everything. i asked him how he was getting them so cheap.
He was a warehouse manager for ta back in tx and left the company and still knew the people there and buying at cost and selling them. HAHAHAHA YES!!!

I've been saving for a Diversion and was about to get one last December before things at work got messed up. Anyway, the local weld shop wanted retail for the machine and where not that interested in price matching, but I didn't pursue the issue. I would feel better buying locally in case something goes wrong with the machine. I hope to find a local place that will price match if I promise to buy all my gas and supplies through them.
