Default Damn em1...o2 sensor help

so i just bought my 00 em1 monday. on the way home last night i had the cruise on just driving along, and damn if the cel came on. i was well ****. so i get home (the car didnt drive any different) and checked the codes with my little wire that i always use. and the flashed 61 and 67. which is primary o2 and cat codes. now my question is, the cat code come on because the primary o2 went out? any help would be appreciated. i dont want to do anything to this car. its too pretty. lol.. so i dont want to do a high flow cat or anything. but i will if i have to.

I had the same problem on mine. I replaced the O2 and the cat, light came right back on. It used the drive me crazy! The light was still on when I sold the car. Good luck, I'm sure there's someone else on here that's been through the same thing and may have some pointers for ya.

i also had the same problem. my cel came on and i got the codes for primary 02, secondary 02, and cat something. (i dont remember the #) i was told i had to replace my cat and both 02's. it was some crazy price like $800 for the work. i ended up converting to obd1 w/ chipped p28. from phearable.net. that eliminated my secondary 02. im running a gutted cat. car runs real strong now. probably gained some hp too.

I didnt want to replace my cat either. if you replace your 02 and your cat is bad. i can only assume it be a matter of time before that 02 goes out. i did the obd2b to obd1 conversion, chipped p28 with phearable base maps. for around $250 shipped. all plug and play. i never even touched my primary 02. it was good.

Get denso sensors.

And the extenders only works for the secondary sensor.

ok so i reset the ecu. and normally obd2 cars, if the sensor is "bad", once you start the car the cel comes back on.
well after i reset it, it never came back on til after i drove it about an hour. and i was doing a steady 60mph.

any clues?
