s2k aftermarket wheel question.
my friend's deciding to pick up a set of wheels. has questions about sizing.. he for sure about 17's, but stuck on width and offset sizes.. another thing is that he's interested in ssr sp1's but someone told him that the rivets on the 17's won't clear (i don't know what they were talking about) and told him if he wanted those wheels, he'll have to get 18's- is that true? also, if you have any opinions about what wheel size, please recommend tire size/info also. mahalo!
note: he does NOT want to raise his stance, but go even lower if possible.

sittin on ksports.

Get ready to roll the fenders. I have 255/45/17 in the rear and I rub like crazy if I'm driving hard, yes my fenders are rolled. As far as clearing the rivets I'm not sure what that means, is he talking about the wheel hub? Just call ssr and ask them. Also tell your friend to keep those stock 16s and put some r-comps on them if he wants to be in any form of motorsports. Because again if he puts on 17x9 rears and goes to a track day he will rub his way to a blowout.
255 width is the stock CR rear, with the right offset wheel it'll fit fine. it's all in the offset for the S, you'll need around a +60 rear offset if you want to slam the car like that.
