Default Coilovers

Whats up, I was just shopping around for some new suspension for the spring and was wondering what to go with. I am really not looking towards springs, but probably a full coilover kit. Just looking for some input on which is the best for the money. Let me know what you guys think.

I am in the market for suspension as well however after extensive research i would reccomend getting yellow konis. They are adjustable. Reason i say this is becauae u live in pitt and i know u get a lot of snow and the salt they lay in PA will destroy and coilover kit u get!! I am in the process of getting these in about teo weeks they will be at my door step!!!

Yeah... Pittsburgh snow and salt does suck. But I got an Explorer 4x4 for that The RSX is in the garage up on jack stands. Anyways, I will check out the Konis. I was looking at Tein's coilovers. They are real nice but pretty damn expensive too. I don't really want to spend $1600 so I was wondering if people has success with a less expensive set up. Plus, I didn't want to spend even more money on a camber kit, so what coilovers can I get that I won't need to?

Oh well in that case i would personally go with Function and Form which is what i wanted to get myself. They have great reviews and are comparable to
More expensive brands. You can find the for around a 1000 at most places. I wud also reccomend getting sway bar kit and some lca's and strut bars, front and rear and a c-pillar bar as well if u wanna go all out!! Just my .02

that's gonna cost a ton of money tho... I was just looking to get a nice suspension set up to give me a nice drop, yet still be adjustable for different types of driving. Basically I just didn't want to buy lowering springs, then just have them end up being a waste of money when i decided to drive my car at the track. I will eventually get the sways and struts but don't have the money for now

i didnt mean that you gotta do it all at once or at all, i am just recommending other things you can get for a good suspension setup...you gotta pay to play

nahonda the function over form is actually not a great suspension because they didn't really put any real r&d into it... the spring rates are higher in the front then the rear when it should be the opposite... you need to have the higher spring rate in the rear to help rotate the rear so you can corner better!

Progress are great! Very good stuff from them... I am actually looking at the Progress coilover...

Ya Nahonda the F&F got good support here to for the past hondas but unfortunatly they went the same way Skunk2 did... didn't do enough R&D... are cars really need to have a stiffer read so they rotate better... or else you will have an understeering car!

OP, if you don't plan on autoxing or road racing in your car, then i wouldn't advise you to spend a large amount of money on your suspension. tein flex will simply be unnecessarily uncomfortable if you won't be able to utilize it to even 60% of it's potential (and that's a liberal number).

look for something that is fairly priced and not too agressive for street driving because it starts to get pretty damn uncomfortable.

Call Horsepower freaks. www.horsepowerfreaks.com

Ask for David. He can hook you up hardcore on some Ksport coilovers.

I personally have Koni yellows and I love them. Car sticks!

Dude I'm just looking out for you haha... but ya its a shame that they couldn't get everything right with our cars... but they did on the 06+! Which really upsets me but if you read up enough you can fix some of the issues which isn't bad if you are hardcore into suspension stuff... I just love going fast in corners lol

I appriciate the look out. I am still going with the yellow konis and spring package. You can beat adjustable shocks for 750 and from such a well known reliable company like koni. I just dont want full coilovers due to the salt and sand and rocks they throw on out roads here in PA, the coilovets would be destoyed within a year!!

yeah... those yellow konis don't look to bad, and for the price it might be a good option. I don't really necessarily need a coilover but I really did not want to waste my money on lowering springs. To be truthful, I am just starting to learn about my car, and all cars in general so I really don't know everything that I would need to ensure the proper set up. So to put it plain and simple... I just want the car lowered because the wheel wells look goofy, but I also want something that will handle nice on the track when I finally start racing. I appreciate all the input from you guys and I look forward to hearing more.

so if you want, let me know what you think of these...

Buddy Club N+

Buddy Club Racing spec

Tein Basic

Tein SS

Tein Flex

K-Sport

any others???
