ok so i was searching around my local craigslist lookin for a eg,da or crx shell for a future project and i happen to come upon a complete NSX 3.0 engine swap, complete with both ECU's,the engine, tranny, complete harness, and c v joints.

now my question is, is this possible? and if so, what would it take to get it to work?i know this is really crazy, and whatnot, but the idea alone is intriguing and i dont think i've ever heard of anyone doin this kind of swap into an EG (possibly because of it being so rare but regardless).

this isn't really a serious question but more like a creative thought that i just had.yeah i know its crazy, but hey for once im using my imagination.

Anything is possible is an old saying..but yes, it should be around 50-80 grand estimating (maybe more, or less), with everything thing being custom. It was a while back, but i thought i read about a crx with an nsx or s2k motor, not sure. Other then it being a "cool swap, and rare", i'd say completely worthless when compared to a built K or B's swap.

 

i figured that as well, seein how a lot of custom fabricating will be needed,but it'd be quite interesting to see someone pull it off.the price for the swap in particular is 2,200 so i figured that was a bargain, but all things considered when u total up the actual cost in the end, i figured it'd be way up there

 

50-80 grand?! I highly highly doubt that. Get a tig and stick welder, a bunch of metal in all sizes to your specifications and make that **** work. Trial and error. for less than 50 grand.

You can put Jseries v6's in our cars now anyway.

hahahaha i would but right now i dont have the funds for it at the moment but if its still up in the future for sale, i will buy it for some ***** and giggles and drop it in a crx shell and see what happens

EDIT: is there any tech info about the NSX in particular?id like to know more about the engine and see what kind of parts are available for it slap on.still being hypothetical though

 

NSX's have quite a few performance add ons. Check out the VTEC Club videos. Some of the sickest NSX's you will see ever.

The NSX engine in a CRX has been done. But its god awful ugly.
