aight i have a 91 hatch with a jdm d15b non vtec swap .... i think thats liek a 92-95 civic motor im not sure though .. but anyways i had to replace my upper radiator hose today cause it busted ... and when ireplaced it i figured out its not getting any fluid thru that hose .. so i think my thermo is stuck closed ... i was wondering where it is located and if i can just get one for a 91 civic or or 92civic or if there the same ... need to know by tomm so i can pick it up before work. thanks

 

same as a regular d series civic, did you bleed the system after changing the hose?

 

nah didnt bleed the fluid just added more till it was full cause it was dark outside and didnt have enough to do a whole change .. but i still think it might be bad because when the car gets warm the CEL comes on and its not throwing any codes ..

 

if the cel is on you must have codes, btw a bad thermostat wont trigger a cel...bleed the system you must have air trapped inside.

 

well it isnt throwing any codes .. i havent looked at is when th ecar wrms up and it comes on but im sure it isnt throwing anything cause wouldnt the code even throw now when the light isnt on since its in the memory ... i will replace the thermostat tomm and bleed the system to make sure all air is out ... hopefully that will do the trick ... and i will let you knwo about the CEL tomm also.

 

replaced the thermostat and im still having the problem .... how do i check the fan to see if its working if i dont have a ohm meter ..can i just run a ground and a hot to the battery to see if it kicks on? then take the wires back off ...
