Apex I N1!! Custom piping or Catback?!?!
Hey guys I have a 92 si with a b18b swap. I have aem intake and dc sports 4 to 1 headers. Right now I have a tsudo muffler on it and it's time for a new exhaust. Im pretty much set on the N1 but what I'm wondering is should I get the muffler and just have a muffler shop make custom piping for it with a high flow cat or should I just get the full catback? Any input would be appreciated! Oh and my tsudo has a nice deep tone to it now and I dont want to lose the deep sound. I don't want that ricey coffee can sound. Thanks guys!
it u want the n1 to be tilted up save urself the trouble and buy the cat back..iots hard to find shops that will actually angle the n1 the way you want it....or at least in my experiences
In my experience, cat back is the way to go. Although it costs more money in the end it is worth it. Manufacturers spend hours with their products in R&D getting them just right. Anything made in 45 minutes will be hard to emulate.

Sounds like catback is the way to go. One of the reasons I like the N1 is because of the angled design. Anyone that has one please post your thoughts on the sound. Ive heard some people say its loud and others say its pretty tame. Thanks guys.
if the angle is one of the things you are lookin for go with the cat back piping...most muffler shops cant do it...as far as how loud it is it all depends on the car....ive got one on my del sol and it is much louder then the one on my friends hatch or my friends 4 door...everyone i know with that muffler have varying degrees of loudness so i guess it depends on the car and who does the piping
not really, i know that Thermal Research and Development made thier exhaust for the 2003 SI in 1 day... and realeased it without any numbers on gains or losses. but i did drive it, and it did get up off the line a lot quicker than stock.
