i live in UK so roads in winter time are covered in salt, which will corrode rims etc.

Damn those are tarnished, just use a good metal polish.

I would seek confirmation on whether there is clear coat over the mirror finish parts of the wheels before you go attempting to polish them. Don't most modern polished finish wheels have clear on them to prevent oxidation?

the entire rim is clear coated

 

The only way to solve that is to not wear them in the winter. I still haven't figured out how people manage to afford hyper expensive wheels but not a set of winter beaters.

since it says non acidic cleaner on the back
