92 dx hachback whats this?
ok so i put a dohc zc im my civic well it will run for a while but after i come back and try an start it after a while it wont start. i pull the plugs and there black ive went through about 3 sets they also smell like gas really bad. i get good spark and the injectors are obd1. i kno it aint just an injector getting stuck open because there all like that. all 4. how it it running so rich? i have all vacume lines hooked up. everything is hooked up. it wont even throw a check engine light or cel. please help honda tech.
oh and if it is the injectors can i run obd2 injectors with a resistor box i seen a newer accord at the junkyard with a resistor box mabe like a 96. and i have a dead end plug by my drivers side shock tower with yellow and black wires going to it. is that a resistor box plugin? an i know if i run obd2 inj, i gotta use the obd2 pigtails.
i will take pics of everything tomorrow. hope they will help too.
thanks again if u help.

well heres a couple questions i was asking.
well whats this?

and this

and the zc came with a chip outta the crank pully.
so i dug around and found this one in pile of stuff i had from the old dohc zc
but this one is much lighter any difference in the 2?
the got the same snout size i believe

also had these camgears there at 0 deg. and the motor is timed.

lol only using the msd wires until i get this thing running good then gonna buy everything else i need

first pic is the purge solenoid. JDM engines don't use a purge solenoid, just plug the vacuum line. The next item is a bunch of 12v power wires, they all go into a plug with a block off plate, thats normal. What are you using for a distributor? It really needs to be an OBD1 DOHC ZC distributor to really run properly, but you can use a D15B7 distributor, mounted using a B18A1 cam cap in a pinch. So far as I know you can't use an OBD0 distributor.
For the record OBD1 DOHC ZCs exist, as a matter of fact I have one that had a rod go through the side of the block.

[quote=tyler100;37570710]the b18a cam cap does fit but it clamps down tight on the dizzy whick i would think that is no good. im using a z6 dizzy
The distributor should fit snugly in the hole. The camshaft should shouldn't be tight though. I'd torque the cap down.
The can be. Thats normally where most of the turbo guys wire their resistor boxes in.

ok i was thinking of making a junper plug if thats why it was running so rich due to the injectors. and ill just do the cam cap i do got one. i was kinda worried about it being too tight on the cam shaft too. so im just gonna do that.
think of any other reason it would be running so rich? like the iatv plug nd the purge valve plugs are the same. think that could do it/?

Have you tried flipping the plugs for the map and the TPS? They are the same clip I believe and it was a recurring "stupid me" moment for a friend of mine. Its an easy check just to rule it out.
there obd1 its not the map cause that never came unplugged , it aint fouling plugs anymore but the exhaust i smelling really gassy im getting very frusterated.
