Default Slicks

Has anyone ever attempted to use road race slicks for drag racing?

the sidewall in a rr slick is completely different from that of a drag slick. im not saying it cant be done, you are comparing apples to orange.

Don't do it. The point of running slicks is to get the best traction you can with a tire thats specifically made with the proper compound and tire design. Don't half *** it, if you want the car to hook, use a drag specific tire.

Same here. The sidewalls on a rr slick is pretty stiff so you womt get that wrinkle wall action and the compund is different. A drag slicks compound would be really greasy after a short while and the rr compound is not soft enough for drag racing.

Like these guys stated, the sidewall would be stiff as any street tire and that is No Bueno for Drag Racing. Also it would be hard on your axles, dont ask me how I know...lol

Yep same here, basically a burly radial. Slicks are far superior.
