Help me decide on what to paint(molding, lip, etc)!!!
My car is getting painted next week (barcelona red metallic) and i'm trying to decide what I want to get painted on the car. The painter said it might not be a good idea to paint the sideskirts because they get beat on by rocks and stuff..so here are the options I am thinking...suggestions are welcome..thanks
Option 1:
Paint molding, leave sideskirt and front lip black, paint mirrors/base black
Option 2:
Paint molding, sideskirts, and lip, paint mirrors/base black
Option 3:
Leave the car how it is (black lip, molding, sideskirts) paint mirrors/base black
Here's the car:

I went to a couple body shops to get a quote to have the moldings/mirrors/handles/rocker panels painted, and both places said its not worth it because they will eventually chip off. They advised to get factory painted moldings, but Honda quoted $570 for the 6 pieces. One body shop also mentioned getting everything painted is not the look anymore, having stuff like lip/side skirts different colour is more popular...
what is everyones opinion on this?

I'm going to be real **** about this...
Paint everything red. (including hood and trunk)
Body-colored side skirts gives the illusion that the car sits lower, too.
Mirrors are truly up to you.
If you can pay for clear paint protective film (like that clear bra thingie), I would recommend putting that on chip-prone parts because you will never have pristine paint once you get the car back from the body shop.
Btw, you will want to take pics immediately [and post on H-T (preferably during sunset/sunrise)
] after you pick up the car because, you will never have that pristine paint ever again.

Seriously, LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!! You have good proportions & contrast. If anything, paint the mirrors & keep the bases black. Looks soooooo much cleaner with black lip & side skirts (even with the RS/Mugen lip & sides)!!! Side moldings, eh, if you are really dying to, but not really my fav. Depending on the application, painted lips & sides don't give it enough contrast. Your car could end up looking too monotone & bulky @ the lower half. Just my opinion. Car looks tasteful the way it is! I would suggest photoshopping it first. But the good thing about these parts is, that if you do paint 'em & end up hating it, a few cans of "bumper black" will erase any ill decisions. The painter was right about paint chips, especially the side's. That lip towards the back wheel catches rocks & road debris like crazy.
