The dash and gauge lights would flicker on and off but now they come on for a second then stay off for the rest of the drive. I replaced the bulbs in the climate control section not long ago, so I at least know it can't be the bulbs. Fuses are good. Any ideas?

you might want to check if your light dimmer works good, that usually happens in some older cars, or even a short somewhere.

 

Ok, I'll make sure its plugged in all the way. I thought maybe a lose wire but that gauge cluster sucks to take out again!

I'm willing to bet it's the dimmer switch. particularlly if you drive an EG. try hitting it and seeing if the lights come on. if so head out to the scrap yard of choice and find one
