Heat, and idle problem
1994 accord ex f22b1 automatic
once again for the third time my trannys gone bad. it's not shifting and it slipping like a mad man. the rpms are a the red line doing 20 mph. I'm getting it swaped to a maunual in a month so thats not a problem. Since the rpms were so hight, the top radiator hose blew, and the collant spilled out. I drove the car about a mile home with no clollant so the car was over heating. So I when and got another radiator hose and put it on. then I added antifreeze. the car was doing the idle jump that everyone is always complaining about. well after a while the temp went down and the engine was normal. But the next day when I fired it up, it will idle jump for a really long time, and it take a long time for it to produce heat for inside the car. once the car is finish idle jumping, then I know that the car will produce heat. the temp gauge reads normal temp. what could be the problem? this all hapened after I put in new ainti freeze. thanks

I just noticed this morning that the car temp is acctually a little bit higher. it's just above the half way mark. and I only get heat when I'm reving it.

It functions by sensing coolant temp, and with the level low the valve reads 'cold' thus boosting up the idle.

also since you did drive the car for a while without coolant the thermostat has maybe stuck open as i does when it overheats to prevent engine failure...thus being the reason your car is taking longer to heat up
open up the bleeder screw when adding coolant, make sure that there is no air coming out of the bleeder, you might have had a big air bubble thus not allowing you to properly fill the system
