Cutting Valves (30 degree angle question)
So im to the point where im cutting valves for the head im working on. I cut the valves on my 289 and it was recommended that i cut them at the specific angles (45 intakes/44 exhaust) and include a 30 degree angle higher up on the seating surface. Will i find any benefit with this on the intake valves on the b18c1 head? I gauged it and the exhaust valves just didnt have enough space to do it anyways, but at least on the intakes it would work. Any advice?
I could have sworn there was a thread on backcutting valves the other day. My machinist plays with angles from 28-32.
