Cleaning EP3 seats
How do you clean stock EP3 seats? they're like suede i think so i din't want to just start cleaning then like usual and F*** them up. Can you steam clean with something like this : http://www.bissell.com/Products/c/po...g/product.aspx
or can you just clean them with stuff like oxyclean (im assuming not but that stuff works on just about anything else like magic)
thanks

Nate, you can use Folex to safely clean or remove spots/stains from your seats.
Can be found at home depot or walmart. Use a Microfiber towel to pick up any dirt or stains after vacuuming the seats and spraying. Blot with the MF towel, don't drag it across the seats. Use a shop vac or something similar to suck up any residue...or let air dry after blotting. You should use sparingly as it doesn't take much to clean.

Oh, and I have the Little Green Machine that you posted the link for. It works great on fabrics. I have used it on my seats in the RSX and worked fine, but I didn't need to use it. Folex and a MF towel does just as good a job at less price (if you don't already own the machine).
Thanks Berry, I don't have the Little green but i was thinking about getting one. Now i'm not so sure. So you say it'll work on the suede? You think it's worth having anyway?
Either way im gonna pick u some of the folex cause it sounds like a good soulution.
Thanks again

Don't get me wrong; the Bissell LGM is a great machine to have around, especially when you don't want to spend 30 minutes "dabbing" up dirt from carpets. It's fun too : )
If you have the 60 or 70 dollars to spend, I think it's well worth the money. If you want to make back the money really quick, do the interior of a family member's or neighbor's car for $50.
I have a shop vac as well that works good at picking up product residue but I have found that the LGM works differently than a shop vac. I think it does a more efficient job of extracting moisture from carpets (you'll see what I mean when you use one). The sprayer is in front of the extractor part so that it sucks up the residue right after it's sprayed...pretty neat.
Most of the time, just a good vacuuming and and dry brushing of the carpets makes a huge difference. The LGM is just gets out the left over dirt that is still stuck to the fibers of your carpet. It leaves them clean, sharp looking, and protected (depending on the solution you use). I did an interior detail on my Uncle's new Suburban (4 little kids) and it got up some NASTY stuff. I couldn't imagine not having a LGM for that job.

What would be awesome is to get a transformer, and then hook the LGM into your cigarette lighter. (I live in an apartment complex, hard to justify a 100ft extension cord just to clean my car)
I used the write up on here for cleaning recaro's back when I had my Red SRD's...just search around for it, its pretty self explanitory.
It's a 1/6 woolite 5/6 water solution.
You wet the seat with water...
Spray the solution on with an old windex bottle or something like that...
Lather it up with your hand and use a soft towel for any scrubbing needed....
Then wet/dry vac the seats...
...I reccomend using some clean water and going over the seats one more time to get any of the residual woolite out.
It won't damage the seats just make sure you let them dry out for a day before you put them back in your car. You will really be suprised at how clean your seats look afterward!!!

I used suede shoe cleaner from foot locker. It works pretty well... They also have a suede "eraser". It is like a rubber thing and you rub it into the suede and it makes it stick up if it is worn flat. Makes them look really nice.
There is a write up around here someone of a guy cleaning his JDM yellow recaros. He used woolite. It looked magnificant!

all i do is mix a bucket of hot soapy water(use joy detergent) and a terry cloth towel and wipe down seats with it. just ring out rag before you wipe down. smells lemony fresh after and nice and clean. then remove lint from rag with vacuum. the key is to keep inside vacuumed at least once a week then its easy to clean
