Default Could this be my cat?

Hey ive been experiancing alot of powerloss lately and the exhaust note changes its more deeper but also more muffler, sounds weird. Its really weird casue it only happends when the car warms up and sometimes doesnt even happen? Im gonna get the car in the air and bang the cat to see if the inside has shattered and if not i guess i would have to back pressure test it at the o2 sensor? Have any of u experianced anything like this? any input would be great.

get an infrared thermometer, if i remember correctly you can measure how clogged it is by the difference in temperature from the front to the rear of the cat. i dont know what values are "bad" and what is "good" though...

Wow i never though of that, Its genious im gonna try that. Beats the hell out of taking the o2 out and checking it by pressure. Could it actually also be my o2 sensor casue i think the car uses it for air fuel mixtures only when its warm? Maybe its running my car to lean. But that wouldnt explain the noise?
