O2 sensors? (no cat)

O2 sensors? (no cat)
Currently, my car feels sluggish after completing my turbo install on my gsr.
I wrapped the 02 sensors with tape since I'm running no cat.
I've heard you're supposed to wrap them in foil?
Or am I supposed to wrap the just front O2 sensor in foil and let the rear one hang in open air?
And lastly, will rain effect the uncovered sensor?
Suggestions would be great!

here's what I did on my WRX.
Get yourself a "spark plug anti fouler" and screw that bugger into your O2 bung. Then screw in the sensor and you're done. The ecu needs to see a voltage drop in the second o2 to ensure the cat is working. With the above method, there isn't as much exhaust touching the sensor, thus a lower reading.
No cel's yet, and the ecu is running the car fine.
Other than that, go with an OBD1 conversion.

I have recently installed a test pipe in place of my cat. I have noticed bad gas mileage and some bad idling. I have my O2 sensor placed straight into the cat via the o2 bung. Is this the source of my problem? I also notice slight cut-offs sometimes after the engine warms up. I soon will be going OBD1 with Uberdata also.
A friend suggested injector cleaner so I put some in my gas tank. So far it seems like it might be fixing the problem, but I'm wondering if its the O2 sensor also. Thanks!

I wouldn't wrap the primary (in the header) at all. Your ECU needs that for fuel correction. However, you can do a number of things with the secondary (cat) one. I've never seen what hypa said to do, however that seems quite logical and may definately work. I picked up an O2 simulator, that did the trick just fine. Also, I heard you can just run it free air by zip tieing it to the stabilizer bar and pluging your O2 bung.

The secondary O2 sensor is only there to ensure that the cat is working. To do so, it needs to send a lower voltage signal to the ecu. The ecu then compares the 2 voltages from the primary and secondary O2, and determines that the cat is working. If you don't have a cat, you need to fool the ecu into thinking you do.
Hondas tuners are a bit *** backwards when it comes to OBD2. In the Subaru world, they tune via their OBD2 ecu's, and as such have come up with some neat ways to fool the ecu. My above method is one of those ways, or you could use a resistor inline with the O2 sensor, also lowering the voltage going to the ecu.
I've always run OBD1 systems, so I haven't tried this method on Hondas, but I will be trying it next week (OBD2 B20 swap into DC2). I'm pretty sure it will work, and not throw a CEL.
