ok i failed the inspection cus my stearing rack is messed up and i have pulled everything off and its hanging down the only thing holden it is the splined peace that gose up threw the firewall to the stearing wheel how do i get this off and i have to get this done tonight to go back up there tomaro after school to get it inspected plz help me thanks alot

 

look under the driver dash where it enter the bulkhad there should be a 10mm bolt take it off and the rack should come down

 

there is a 10mm bolt that connects the steering column to the pinion. in order to remove the bolt you have remove a plastic cover that goes around the bottom of the steering column. the plastic cover meets with the carpet and it will have these plastic nuts holding it down to the floor of the car. once you remove the plastic you'll be able to see the 10mm bolt. it will be all the way to the bottom.

 

are u talken about the lil back cover its under that

ok well i found out u gota pull the bolt all the way so it comes outa the grove on the shaft figured that out and had trouble pulling the strearing rack out then peaced togeather all the new stearing rack like the inner and outer tirodes and got it all back up and atached everwhere and some how the shaft was up to far and i striped out the bolt that gose the the strearing so i gota get another outa my parts car hopefuly i didnt mess the threds in the hole up but hopefuly i can get it done afterschool today dont have much to go
