could be your vtec solenoid. make sure the wire is plugged in good both at your solenoid and the ecu.

i had the same problem in my 93 teg but it was because i did a swap and i didn't get the pin plugged in good. but since your car came with the gsr i wouldn't think it would be the wiring. see if you can swap with a buddy to see if it's your soleniod. i wouldn't think that your cooling system would have anything to do with you vtec issue. oh and also make sure your reset your ecu.

Make sure that your not leaking any oil. I got a new cam plug but I need to see how that gets installed. If you are leaking, then not enough oil may be adding to the problem.

ok thanks for all the input i did get all the air out of the cooling system and i took my whole vtec assembly apart and cleaned it with carb cleaner now no more issues with vtec. Thanks for all the help and support that you all have offered.

But do have another problem.....My down pipe is too close to my radiator and it is making the car overheat!!!!! has anyone had this issue with the downpipe being too close to the rad and making it overheat? Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for me to try?
