Default Zc Turbo Time slips?

Im just wondering what times the people here have pulled down the 1/4 mile with a zc turbo setup? Anyone? Anyone with dyno charts on the Zc motor with or without turb might be interesting too. Thanks.

What about a ZC/Greddy kit running 6-8psi? That's what I'm looking to do...

low 14's, high 13's...

some might think that's a bit high, but it's easier to write anythin on the internet, but when it comes time to do it, it's a differant thing, keep it realistic and anything lower than that, let it make you happy...my .2 cents

Acually Im wondering this becouse of two things:

1: Im amazed at how much the people on this site are into the zc motor. I have one, and I really dont think its vary special at all. Its alright for a cheap swap, but its not a great platform to start with. I wanted to see how many people acually raced the zc with or without a turbo, to see what times they got.

2: Becouse Im a broke ***, and Im switching cars ect ect, it looks like I will be keeping my zc for longer than I thought. This means eaither a NA buildup (nothing major, just cams and pullys if I can get them) or would the money be better spent on the greddy turbo kit? Dunno, just thinking, wondering about some imput.

As for the reply of depends how much boost they are running, I kinda thought that went without saying. I was thinking people would post numbers. I know for myself If I boosted this motor, it wouldnt be above 7 psi. But with that I cant imagine running anything better than a low 14. Anyone acually run a boosted ZC here with timeslips?
Anyway, thanks.

Not sure where I read about it but a kid did a major build up of a zc/turbo motor and had it running low 13's high 12's.

Project will be done next summer.

Oh joy.. I am Kid..

Expect, mid 13's or so with a Turbo ZC..
My 12.9 was a pathetic time, using a turbo that is smaller than the greddy d-series kit.

Expecting 11's this year... if I ever get my car back..

I did 14.3 at 98 mph. The car had a lot more in it, but I had to launch very very softly because the track was like ICE!!! I would literally leave the line at about 1400rpm and slip the clutch which meant the car was trying to dig itself out of the lag for the first half second or so. The boost was right around 7lbs flat. This was in a 91 Civic Si hatch. Air temp was around 80 degrees.

The complete setup was....

ZC motor, Si trans, stock injectors, 12:1 FMU (that's right, more than 100lbs of fuel pressure), Walbro 255. Ghetto intercoorler, and HKS SS BOV.

I certainly hope to get much more out of it. This was with the car 100% untuned as in I bolted the turbo on and headed to the track. I can tell that its a high 13 second car as it sits if I could just get it on a good track. With tuning I would expect 13.7s at the same boost level.

Once tuned and my other injectors are installed, I figure I still have a few pounds to go before the rods go south.

The potential is certainly there. If you're considering it, go for it. Its easy for me to say as money wasn't really an issue since I won most of it at the track last year, but I think it would have been worth it even if it was all out of pocket. The car is fun as hell to drive.

Anyone have any ideas of what I can expect with just a bolt on greddy turbo kit? Im talking no intercooler, nothing, just bolt on kit, thats it. just wondering if anyone has tried this, I was thinking about 14.3 but I could be wrong here (see above post) mabey slower? Anyway, anyone have an idea?

Im wondering if I should even bother, or just use the money towards the b18a and mount kit.

the turbo ZC will be faster than the b18a. and the ZC is a direct bolt in to the 4th gen...

It depends on what car it is going in to... An Si hatch???.... I'd guess probably 14.5 - 14.7 realistically on average street tires on an average track with a decent driver. That seems to be the going time for similar setups around here anyhow. If you're actually a good driver, I'd expect better. The thing is that as soon as I estimate mid 14s, someone will come back and talk about how they ran a 12.9 or something. I'm just talking about your average person, average car, average motor, Si Civic Hatch (not CRX HF), average track, etc etc.

Look at it this way, the kit estimates a 30% increase in power over stock. So that should bring you to about 165 chp or around 145 whp with nothing other than the kit. I can absolutely guarentee that as long as you can drive, you'll be smoking B18s all day long by at least a few tenths, and probably closer to 1/2 second.

Well i only ran a best of 14.2@101mph BUT that was only at 6psi my first time ever running it with the turbo and my clutch is completely done slips every gear.

setup was a zc with si tranny greddy kit, greddy small intercooler, hks bov and an FMU

i STILL dont have a clutch but i am now running 10psi with a fuel pump, adj regulator, and an fmu. and i should definitely hit at least a 13.7 or so with a clutch i hope for like a 13.2 maybe.

eventually i will run 12's with the zc...eventually...

i found a 300zx turbo in the junk yard.its pretty small which i like and i heard it only boosts 5.5. psi.. i saw on abaz's site how he did that turbo setup. but can ABAZ or anyone else tell me if it is possible to turn the turbo around the other way so that the downpipe side of the turbo would be facing where the a/c compressor would be??

cuz the greddy turbo allows for room with the a/c compressor...probly cuz of the fact that the downpipe side f the turbo is facing the compressor.

so does anyone know if i can use that turbo or anoyne the same small size and fit it with the a/c compressor???
