90 accord let run 5 hours now having problems

90 accord let run 5 hours now having problems

hesitates when given gas. rpm and odom. went out, batt. light on when stopped, off when i go. fine when idling after jumpstart. any ideas?

I'd start by verifying the alternator is operating correctly; not just operating.
At idle, the alternator should be able to sustain a minimum of 13.8 volts, with almost everything on.

If it is the original Alternator, you're probably suffering from worn brushes. As they wear, they loose spring tension and thus contact with the Alternator Rotor. At idle, it may not be charging at all.
