i got jipped with a jdm type r swap
so basically to make a long story short i went to a shop to get a jdm type-r swap because i had blown my original usdm type-r motor and i just found out last night that they put a gsr manifold... i paid 3500 for the swap and i have the paperwork that says that is what i had paid for and what they were to give me but it has been past the thirty day guarantee of the motor which i had signed for so now im wondering if anyone has any advice on what options i should take.... and yes i know.. how come i didnt realize this sooner but the truth of the matter is that im not engine savvy i just enjoy driving but i am trying to learn... so if anyone has any advice id really appreciate it ... thanks
if it has a GSR manifold it is not a type R motor

If you bought something, signed for it, waited past 30 day return policy, you are SOL.
That's like if you bought something from Target, waited until after the return period to tell them it was broken. SOL.

wow.....well try taking it back to the shop and see what they can do. I mean, you did pay for a JDM type R motor and you have the paperwork to back you up. I'm sure if they are a reputable shop they will do something about it. maybe they will exchange the motor you have now for what you paid for. just curious, whats the engine code on the block? maybe they sold you a motor with type R block and a gsr head?
gl with your situation tho

oh man, thats prob a jdm gsr motor. you sure its a gsr manifold? curves down rite? anyways. 3500 is definetly a itr swap price. better talk to the shop. gl man.

Both the JDM Integra Type-R and JDM Integra SiR-G (GSR) have the block code B18C, so that's not going to help you.
If your motor has a GSR intake manifold, it definitely has a GSR cylinder head. They are not interchangable...
To check to see if you have a ITR block, look for the large transmission brace that connects the block at both the front & back. It's part #10 (instead of #9 & 11). Only ITRs came with part #10...

FYI: This the ITR intake manifold:

did you get the tranny too? or used it from your original itr motor? if you got the tranny too, check if theres the letters LSD stamped on it...
i know how you feel bro i went threw this 2 weeks ago when i got my jdm itr, but if the manifold folds down its a jdm gs-r cause the manifolds are not changable, but to make sure look behind the distributer if it's an itr there will be green paint, also a p72 stamped on the bottom of your oil pan
Bah, who knows. The OP seems to have abandoned this post...
Anything stamped P72 will also be found on a GSR/SiR-G motor. Anything stamped P73 is specifically an ITR part. The oil pans for GSR & ITR are the same...

94eg your right sir they have the same oil pan
,but the intake manifolds are not there is no way to put a gsr intake manifold on a type r unless you swap out the head so basically youll have a type r block and gsr head

OP, what is the code stamped on the head? The stamp is above the exaust ports on the front (facing the front of the car) of the head. Type r is PR-3.
iirc both jdm gsr and jdm itr trannys come with lsd so....
JDM SiR-G (GSR) had LSD as an option. Some have it, and some don't (just like SiR B16's). ITRs all around the world have LSD standard, but feature different gear ratios. JDM 95-97 & all USDM ITRs have B16 gears. 98+ JDM ITRs have GSR 1st-3rd, longer 4th & 5th gears and a shorter final drive.
I guess I'm just rambling now...

1. How did you not notice the manifold was different right away from your itr motor?
2. If you shopped around and knew prices for a jdm itr motor, 3500 is a steal. That is the prices for a jdm b18c gsr.
