Default gt45 to big??

hello,
I bored out my b16a2 si block to 1.97l and thought that after I put the darten turbo sleeves and crower rods and je turbo pistons(built for 40lbs of boost) that bigger would be better. note that the head was fully built to handle the power also.

So I chucked the t3 t40E hybrid turbo charger and put a t70 turbo charger on not realizing that it was for at least a 2.5l motor. after i had the motor tuned with the t70 the tune shop thought it would be wise to tell me the turbo was to big after tuning, instead of before tuning, that it was not spooling up until 6000rpms and that i would be better off with a gt40 or even a gt45 turbo charger.

I purchased a gt45 and it is massive? was I miss informed? is there somthing that I'm not aware of like the inside of the turbo hosing, because this turbo housing and exhaust side is bigger than the t70's.

man i'm confused....

only 388hp. the tuner shop said with the gt45 i would make 500hp and that i would spool faster at lower rpms but its hard for me to believe with this massive gt45?

lol, didnt you even look at the specs of the turbo before you bought it? A GT45 is a 1000+hp turbo, do you even have a T4 manifold?
A GT45 is a rather beefy turbo upgrade for a Supra, and rather unimaginable for your Honda, I would find another tuner asap....

I am assuming your T70 was an EGAY I mean EBAY turbo?

Hehe. I hate to say it, but I think he was joking to see if you'd buy it. Your engine will not move that turbo if there were 3 b16s attached to it. I'd really stop listening to this person. He has just made you waste money on a bad joke.. Honestly.

Wow...stop listening to whoever said that immediately. It's very apparent that he doesn't know what he's talking about.

I think a turbonetics TNX-122 will be perfect for your b16. :-)

If i'm not mistaken, i think you have your answer. If you have a question regarding a proper turbo for your setup, please start a new thread. This one is fairly tainted with the blatant ignorance of your "tuner."

**Just to reiterate, don't ever listen to that person again...thanks**
