is probably a stupid question but im sorry im new to turbo im very limited right now

so i see everytime i turn on my car.. a black liquid that looks like oil or gas is coming out of the exhaust.. i have a 3'' straight pipe with 2 test pipe.. and sometimes i see black smoke... is this normal??? im running a greddy kit with vitara pistons running at 15 psi max

 

the liquid is most likely condensation that forms in the hot exhaust pipe when it cools, and gets blown out from exhaust pressure when started, its black because its dirty in there.

black smoke is just an indication of fuel, your probably running rich. What are your AFR's like?

I don't think liquid coming out of the exhaust at startup is normal. Black smoke, maybe but not liquid.

 

if its a black liquid its probably the mixture from condensation mixing with all the build up of carbon in the exhaust piping

 

totally normal. some cars do it more than others. stick your finger in it and smell it, its just condensation.

 

For every gallon of gasoline that is burned more than a gallon of water comes out the tailpipe.

 

Made me laugh...

 

i actually stick my finder in there and smell it.. and smell like gas but is not like pure as is more like water

 

Rule of thumb... err nose and finger if you will.

If it smell like gas/nothing, you're ok.

If it smells like oil/coolant, you've got issues.
