my friend just got a good deal on a hatch and he wants to find out exactly what he has because he has no clue whats done to the car,lol. the head has pr3-2 stamped on it but how do i know if its an itr or b16 head???

PR3-2 Is B16 ... BUT B16 heads and ITR heads are the same casting just different valve trains. Check the year. There will be a stamp on the right side of it next to 3 circles on the head and there will be 2 numbers with a line in between. The two numbers are the year the head was made!@

 

so it should not matter if my head is b16 or itr because the head is built...right??

 

exactly. if it has aftermarket valvetrain and cams then it is the same head. only thing that set the two apart when stock was the valvetrain and cams it came with.

 

also, the itr heads comes mild port from factory.

 

look behind the dizzy..if it's itr it would be green.
