eg civic 40 offset?
would a +40 offset on an eg civic stick out to far? im afraid to order the wheels and them not look right

I've seen +35 on a coupe, and it was pretty much flush with the fender. So it should definitely be fine.

i run 35 on my car and its fine, 40 should be ok too. when you get in lower offsets you typically have to worry about fitment more.

factory offset for a civic is +45mm. so 35-55 you should be ok.
the lower the more it will sit 'flush' with the fender.
