Default Megan, DC Sports, Header suggestions

It is now a tossup between Megan Racing & DC Sports headers for my Accord. Megan parts are comparibly lower in price than the DC Sports performance parts. I know when it comes to performance, "you get what you pay for," but as far as I know Megan Racing is just as [if not better] good quality as DC. I want to hear if anyone can compare the two when it comes to the welds and material used. Keep in mind I live in Southern California so I don't have any salt on the roads or extreme weather conditions. Another considerable aspect of quality is the flanges and gaskets. Does anyone have experienced reviews on these parts of each companies exhaust manifolds? So if I'll be getting the same results from the two brands, I might as well spend less.

I purchased a cheap ebay stainless steel header. The manifold flange and all of the flanges are not stainless and get a little surface rust. The header itself is very strong and looks good.
You need to take a very close look at the pictures on ebay. You want to make sure its stainless not chrome.

A tip for you too. When you install the header, wipe it off with alcohol. Then start up the car and let it get hot, then let it get cool. If you do this it will blue very nicely. If you don't it will get smudges from fingerprints and crap burnt all over it, like I did.

Ok i have Megan racing headers and they are GREAT!!!

Plus they are cheaper than DC and have the same flow pattern, but they arn't going to crack on you.

Dc header are notorios for cracking due to the fact that they are made out of ceramic....

So go with the megan's

AND NO EBAY HEADERS after a couple years your going to get an escape in the headers.

Plus i got my Megans for 145 shipped.

Since we're talking about wasting time, why even spend that much $$ on a mod that you'll only get maybe 4whp from when it's going to be such a hassle?

They are? No, they are not made of ceramic, they ceramic COATED. It's coated for cooling reasons. Honestly.

first id like to say that if your worried about being CARB compliant you have no business modifying your car ... second i personally am very happy with my megan header, except with the issue with the cheap gaskets it comes with ...

What headers are CARB exempt?? I thought any modification to any emmissions (i.e. exhaust etc) is "illegal." Since CA has to smog every 2 years, I'm prepared to switch out my headers everytime I have to smog. I think I'm ganna go for MR headers with the OEM gasket.

Wish i had my old N/A dyno sheets to post on this one

My good ol ebay header did just as well as a ceramic coated DC sports...the only complaint with the egay one was that i bottomed out and ripped a nice sized hole where the mounting braket was welded on back side of oil pan. made a nasty exhaust leak...(chromoly garbage) but other than that they have held up great.

i have had ebay and megan. and they are pretty much the same to me. but then again i only have had each one for a short time before it took to many hits to the ground. id ebay if you lower car lower than it should be. then id go megan if you have no bottoming out problems.

Dc headers, Greddy, and i guess neuspeed are CARB exempt. the company went through the trouble to make sure that their product can pass california smog emmissions tests, that is why they are more expensive. u don't have to take them out when u get smogged. if u have headers that are not CARB exempt, u would have to take it out every time u get smogged and can potentially get a fix it ticket each time u get pulled over. it's not worth the hassle for a product that will make you spend more money that you otherwise can be saving up for some rare upgrade or something special. but yeah, do whatever you wanna do. it's not my car. just tryin' ta save a fellow california resident any extra headaches down the road.
