Default Is Ractive any good?

I was just at my mechanics picking my car up after some major repairs and he decided to just hand me a free header. It's a Ractive 4-into-1 header. I was wondering if they are any good. I had never heard of Ractive before (I'm still a little new to some of the after market crap). Would it really be worth my time to replace my stock B16 exhaust manifold with this thing? It obviously looks higher flow and what not.

My original plan was to save up and get a DC Sports header but if this free one is any good I'll just stick with it. Thank you for any help.

Ractive is cheap junk. Sell it on eBay.

Ok so junk. Maybe I'll buy the Ceramic DC Sports header off of him. It seems much nicer. Some seemed to tell me it was just another APC.

DC ceramic headers are garbage too. I've heard about more cracks from those than any other name brand.

truth. on my old steup they cracked on all 4 primarys at the flange, not to mention ther hang pretty low(especially the 4-1 header like I had).

I say use the racetive header, the results should be close enough to what a DC would give you (maybe like no more than 10whp and 5ft/bs....if that....all company adds with #s are inflated slightly, I've yet to see a DC header gain 19hp and 21 ft/lbs like one their old adds claimed...forgot which car it was for). it will be an improvemnt over stock but still far from a race header.

dude just run it 90% of those 4-1 headers use the same design. He doesnt need a hytec race header. Just use it and be happy the end.

Oh I don't need a race header. I just wanted somethin a little better than the stock one. I might cram the Ractive in sometime soon but I ain't gonna let everyone know that's what brand it is. My old car was covered in APC (Thank you oh brother of mine, only quality parts for you huh) and I hid it like you hide **** from your parents. My mechanic didn't seem to think it was a bad header he just wanted out of his shop. It had been sittin there for months and he is moving to another location soon so he's trying to get rid of some junk. He's obviously gonna have a yard sale soon too cause his shop is in his backyard and I might have to hit that up for some parts. It's great havin a Honda specialist mechanic cause I can get all kinds of crap from him. I'm gettin a free differential when he takes the stock one out of his project Si and puttin a LSD in it's place. I need a new differential and this has saved me some serious cash.

hell dc is not even dc anymore. The twin brothas sold the company to aem. There not even in r&d with there name anymore. Even thou aem is a large company with money to provide quality parts and they do test out everything. I think there are better headers out there fo a better bang for the buck. Hell circuit city carried ractive headers before.

ractive isnt the number one brand but it gets the job done hell it was free and it's a name that is atleast known and all in all it will definatly add extra horse power some times you have to take what you can get
