Gasket Sealing question
I got a new intake manifold and throttle body and i bought a new gasket for each, all flanges are cleaned and everything is ready to be bolted back up, should I use the gaskets dry or put a sealant like permatex, I have some ultra copper RTV that claims its specific for 4 cylinder turbocharged motors. I am running boost at 5-10 psi. Thank you
I was considering changing my 91 Civic's throttle body gasket today and saw a heckuva lot of testimony supporting the use of the liquid gasket "Hondabond." Search the archives here for discussion. Many use just the Hondabond; no gasket. Buy it at your local Honda motorcycle shop for much less than the Honda dealer. Wear gloves; Hondabond is a helluva adhesive and even acetone does not really take it off.
