i have an ef with a b16a swap that is about three or four years old and have had no problems. about a week ago, the car started being hard to start, it would turn over fine just wouldnt start, also, as im drivin the car feels like it shuts of then starts right back up? any ideas on what it may be?

 

check your spark plugs, wires, distributor

It's an older car so I would have a close look at the PGM-FI Main Relay, [**** to problems in older cars] this may help... http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/mainrelay.html I have repaired or replace it on more then a few Honda/Acura, including my 94LS and my sisters 92 Civic. 94

 

how would i go about checking the distributor?

 

Hard to do when the problem is intermittent, but you can check for the obvious, remove cap and inspect condition of rotor and cap contact points, check for moisture, cracks or carbon arks inside the cap, make sure all connections to coil and ICU are good.
You should also make sure there is no moisture down the spark plug "tubes" or on the ends of the spark plug leads. 94
